As you know, Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, which he wrote and directed, caused quite a stir. The film was considered one of the best productions of 2026.
Science fiction fans, in particular, eagerly awaited and closely followed this film, and finally watched it. Disclosure Day was a production that blended mystery, science fiction, and suspense elements.
We can say that Emily Blunt, in the lead role, gave a very successful performance. Emily Blunt was one of the most attention-grabbing actors in the film and made it watchable.
The plot initially seemed quite simple and somewhat ordinary. The story progressed with questions like, “Is this just an ordinary science fiction film?”, “What are they going to reveal?”, and “What will happen in the end?”
Frankly, the film wasn’t as big and impressive as we expected. By the end, we saw the characters reveal the existence of aliens. The film increased its pace towards the end, raising the element of suspense. However, just as it was starting to heat up, it suddenly ended.
Will there be a Disclosure Day 2 movie?
The film’s abrupt ending, especially after the alien scene, naturally raises the question: Will there be a Disclosure Day 2 Movie? Is a sequel possible? At least, that’s what I’m curious about.
Looking at the film overall, it feels like we’ve only seen the first part of a story that could be three or four parts long. In other words, it gives the impression that we’ve only been shown the introduction to the story.
In series like Lord of the Rings, the story reaches a certain point, the first film ends there, and then the sequel follows. I feel like something similar will happen with Disclosure Day. It’s possible the director, screenwriter, and producers consciously chose this.
Perhaps they acted on the idea of, “If the film is well-received, we’ll make a sequel.” After all, the film industry is largely a market driven by financial success.
Nevertheless, I think this film only offers us an introduction, and the real story will be told in the sequel. In fact, I have a strong impression that the sequel could be even better than the first.
