In these movies we sometimes try to escape from a capsule, and at other times, we attempt to break free from the same event repeating over and over again.
Cube (1997)
Strangers wake up inside a structure composed of rooms that all look identical… While some rooms can be traversed safely, others harbor deadly traps.
At first, everyone tries to figure out which door to pass through; however, over time, the question of whom to trust becomes a critical issue. While focusing on the search for an exit, the movies Cube also reveals how people change under fear and pressure.
Oxygen (2021)
In Oxygen, the character doesn’t even have a room to move around in. A woman suffering from amnesia wakes up inside a capsule where the oxygen supply is rapidly depleting. As she searches for a way out, she must also discover her own identity.
She gains information through conversations with the system controlling the capsule, yet every answer brings a new question. The dwindling oxygen supply serves as a constant reminder that she has little time to think or make decisions.
ARQ (2016)
A home invasion turns into a time loop that the characters experience over and over again.
